Paver:  French Terracotta, Saltillo, Mexican and More!

Currently, clients and homeowners chose these paver materials in order to create rustic, old world or Mediterranean-styled environments. Pavers are mainly composed of clay and many are hand made--the manufacturing process is based on age-old methods. Depending on the material, they are “fired”, “sun dried” or “cured” leaving them with varying degrees hardness and porosity. Substantial variations in the paver color, surface texture and finish are expected since many are manufactured to have a more rustic, antique or worn appearance.

Its care:

It is important to ensure that cleaning methods do not negatively the paver finish. In some situations, finishes are hand applied or require dry time before they can be trafficked. Thorough vacuuming and mopping with clean water and neutral pH soap inhibit dirt and soil build-up on paver. Depending upon wear, location, type, and care; paver will need professional maintenance every 1 - 3 years.

• All paver should be sealed.
• Topical waxes, acrylics and urethanes are best.
• Neutral pH stone soap is best even for daily cleaning.
• Paver and hand-waxed surfaces can "transfer" when trafficked.
• Always test cleaners in an inconspicuous and ensure to follow directions.
• Use vaccums with soft brush attachments to remove dirt and debris prior to mopping.
• Care must be taken to keep its wider joints clean. Soft scrub brushes that won't affect the finish are helpful.
